Sheriff Kyle Miers
Term: 2024-Present
Sheriff Miers was born in the Jennings American Legion Hospital in 1975. He played baseball in Jennings during his childhood summers and graduated from Welsh High School and Sowela.
Sheriff Miers enlisted in the Louisiana Army National Guard at the age of 17 and was stationed at Fort Benning, GA for Basic Training. During his military career, he earned the Army Achievement Medal and is now a member of the American Legion Post 19 in Jennings.
Upon his election, he had 23 years in Law Enforcement with the Ward 3 Marshal's Office and Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. Throughout his career, Sheriff Miers, gained experience in Corrections, Patrol, SWAT, Dive Team and Investigations.
During his law enforcement career he has spent time as a Defensive Tactics Instructor, Active Shooter Instructor, and Dive Instructor.
Outside of his military and law enforcement career, he earned a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and competed professionally in MMA becoming the IXFA Middleweight Champion.
