vehicle burglary arrest

On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, Deputies were dispatched to 9468 Pine Island Highway, Jennings, in reference to a suspicious person.

When deputies arrived, they observed a female holding a male subject at gunpoint outside a vehicle. As deputies approached the male ran.  

The female reported that she caught the male breaking into her car. Deputies pursued the male subject and apprehended him in a flooded field nearby. 

Thomas Henry Buxton , 52, of 718 Third street, Elton , was arrested for 2 counts simple burglary of a motor vehicle, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, 4 counts of criminal trespassing, and 2 counts of contempt of court on outstanding warrants. 

Deputies discovered during the investigation that Buxton has broken into other vehicles in the area and a residence.
