Traffic stop results in fugitive arrest

On January 1, 2020, Deputies stopped a vehicle travelling west upon West Division Street near South Lake Arthur Avenue, Jennings, Louisiana. The vehicle had a broken lens fixture, emitting white light from the rear of the vehicle.

When deputies approached the vehicle they observed an infant was sitting in the lap of the driver.  The driver could not produce a license and gave false information to the deputies. After denying it a few times, the driver identified himself as Bobby Ray Spratt, 39, of 312 East 1st street, Roanoke, LA.  

Dispatch advised Spratt had an active warrant through Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office, Spratt was placed under arrest for LA RS 32:53 Defective Equipment, LA RS 32:295 Child Restraints; 32:52 Driver Not Licensed, 14:108.B1(c) Resisting an Officer by Refusal to Identify, and active warrants through Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office.
