Traffic stop leads to weapon arrest

On September 9, 2023, Deputies patrolling Northbound on Highway 26 near Aaron Road, Jennings, observed a white Chevrolet Tahoe with taillights not working.
Deputies stopped the vehicle on Hwy 26 near Empire road. Deputies recognized the driver from previous calls and knew he was known to have illegal narcotics and possibly weapons.
A consent to search was obtained and deputies located a firearm in the vehicle. The firearm was reported stolen to Jefferson Davis Sheriff's office in 2022.
The driver, Justin Blake Daigle, 38, of 1013 Grand Marais Road, Jennings was booked into the parish jail for illegal possession of stolen firearm, no taillamps, no inspection certificate, and no driver's license.
