Stolen vehicle pursuit and crash

On Saturday March 9, 2024, Deputies received a BOLO from Acadia Sheriff's Office,  of a stolen green Dodge Charger westbound on Interstate 10. 

Deputies observed the vehicle traveling at a high speed and began pursuit. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop at which time the vehicle fled.

After several miles evading deputies,  the vehicle was successfully spiked on LA 102 near Hwy 26. The vehicle continued on west bound on LA 102 crossing LA 26 airborne over the roadway , then crashed into two parked vehicles near the Hathaway High School.

Both occupants were transported to the hospital and are still in the hospital. LA State Police assisted in the crash investigation. Charges are pending on both the driver and passenger.
