Officials with Jeff Davis Parish School Board (JDPSB) contacted deputies with Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office (JDSO) this week regarding a shooting threat from a parish student.
Detectives received information on Thursday morning, Feb. 22, at approximately, 9:30 a.m., that a message was sent out to Hathaway High School (HHS) students via the social media page, Snapchat, warning them not to go to school that day. In the message, the student, later identified as 17-year-old Christopher Simon Marshall, of Jennings, also made statements that he was going to shoot up the school.
A warrant was obtained for Marshall's arrest for LSA 14:40.1 terrorizing. He was arrested later that morning and booked into the parish jail on a $1,000 bond.
