Residential burglary arrest

On October 16, 2021, Elton Police department received a report of a break in at a residence in Elton, LA.
Elton police identified the suspect and recovered several items taken from the residence. The investigation also uncovered an attempted arson of the residence.
Detectives with the Jeff Davis Sheriff Office were asked to assist Elton in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect.
On October , 18, 2021, Detectives arrested Steven Peewee Edwards, 39, of 205 Colorado street, Elton on 1 count of Obstruction of justice, 1 count of Simple burglary and 1 count of simple arson.
