New Release

At approximately 12:40pm this afternoon, The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff Office was notified by Jefferson Davis Parish School Board of a possible threat to Lake Arthur High School.  Multiple JDPSO Patrol Deputies, Special Operation personnel and Detectives were dispatched and quickly responded.  While the initial investigation was in progress, the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board received a second phone call with conflicting information, and they issued a lockdown on the school.  Further investigation took place, and it was soon determined that a threat was not present.  The Jefferson Davis Parish School Board then lifted the lockdown.  The JDPSO and JDPSB will continue to work together with a combined effort to insure the safety of our students is a top priority.
