The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office continued to hit the ground running to start off 2025. The JDPSO has been doing many different activities throughout the parish, and we would like to give you a recap of some of these in January 2025.

• January 8th - Sheriff Kyle Miers went to Hathaway High School to speak to students about his career in law enforcement. The Sheriff spoke about what it means to be sheriff, and all of the jobs that take place in a sheriff's office. While at Hathaway High School, Sheriff Miers donated blood at the school, where they were hosting a blood drive benefit for a student
• January 9th - Chief Deputy Warner Levy, JDPSO Commanders, and Deputies went to Camelot Brookside, in Jennings, to celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day with Seniors in our parish.
• January 10th - Walmart donated cupcakes to the JDPSO for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
• January 17th - JDPSO Deputies attended the 3rd annual JDP Special Olympic Youth Games at the Jennings High School Gym.
• January 19th - 23rd - Jefferson Davis Parish, along with the rest of Southwest Louisiana, experienced a once in a generation snowstorm. The JDPSO led in collaboration with the Police Jury, Jennings Police Department, and many local churches opened a warming shelter at the Multi-Purpose building located on the JDP Fairgrounds. The warming shelter was a success and roughly 20 individuals stayed to escape the extremely winter weather.
