Illegal discharge of weapons

On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to 18159 T. V. Tower Road Kinder, in reference to two males shooting in the area and harassing juveniles.

The complainant reported to deputies that her children were playing outside, and the males were shooting across the roadway and talking inappropriately to her son and daughter.

Deputies approached lot 79 and spoke to two males.  Initially both males denied shooting, but when questioned further by deputies, and advised that deputies had video of the shooting and evidence showing shots fired near a pipeline, one suspect admitted that one had been shooting. 

Deputies identified the shooter, John Webster Roberts, 70, of 18159 TV Tower road, Kinder, LA was a convicted felon and in possession of firearms. Roberts was arrested for illegal discharge of a firearm, and three counts of 14:95.1 Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
