Fugitive arrest

On December 30, 2022, Jefferson Davis Sheriff's office initiated an investigation of theft by fraud when complainant reported a fraudulent check had posted to her account.
JDSO detectives identified the suspect as Robert Lee Ellender, 41, of 1205 N. Perkins Ferry road, Lake Charles.
Ellender cashed two fraudulent checks , 1st for $125.00 and 2nd one for $150.00. An arrest warrant was obtained for Ellender and he was apprehended by deputies on March 27, 2023. Ellender is being held in Jefferson Davis Jail on 2 counts of bank fraud.
