FEBRUARY 2025 RECAP
•February 3rd - Sheriff Kyle Miers went to Hathaway High School for morning drop-off.
•February 3rd-7th - Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office holds first ever Advanced Patrol Class. In this class, Deputies were trained in different scenarios including the clearing of buildings, how to handle felony traffic stops etc.
•February 10th - Sheriff Miers went to Elton Elementary School for morning drop-off. Elderly Services Deputy Connie Sarvis, and Administrative Assistant Nicholas Ford judged the first ever Sweetheart of Camelot Brookside pageant. Mrs. Bernice Aucoin was crowned the first ever Sweetheart.
•February 12th - Lacassine High School shows their appreciation for their SRO Mike Hill.
•February 18th - JDPSO Deputies assist Welsh PD during the Mardi Gras celebrations.
•February 17th - Sheriff Miers went to Lacassine High School for morning drop-off. Jennings High School shows their appreciation for their SRO Charlie Guidry.
•February 21st - Sheriff Miers, Chief Deputy Warner Levy, and JDPSO Deputies attended the Council on Aging Mardi Gras celebration in Lacassine. Deputy Bill Kettler from the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office also attended the Farm Bureau Ag Safety Day hosted at Doise Farms in Elton.
•February 22nd - JDPSO Deputies assist Lake Arthur PD during the Mardi Gras celebrations.
•February 24th - Sheriff Miers went to Lake Arthur Elementary for morning drop-off and spoke to a parent who directs traffic near the school.
•February 25th - Sheriff Miers and Administrative Assistant Nicholas Ford attended the Legislative Breakfast, at Sowela in Jennings.
•February 28th - Sheriff Miers, Chief Deputy Levy, and Administrative Assistant Nicholas Ford attended the LUS Fiber groundbreaking ceremony in Jennings where the JDPSO set up a tent for the ceremony.
