Family disturbance nets one arrest

Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's office responded to a call this morning around 2 am at 201 North fourth street, Welsh. When deputies arrived Welsh Police were on scene with a family disturbance.
Deputies determined from statements obtained that a 16 year old juvenile female was struck in the head by her mother with a metal pot, punched in the head and pushed to the ground.
Donita Lashae Jackson, 41, of 201 North fourth street was arrested and booked into the parish jail on charges of Cruelty to a juvenile. No bond is set at this time.
