Drug arrest

On August 21, 2023 Deputies were dispatched to the area of Elton Drive near Tupper Road and Bucklin, near Elton, in reference to a suspicious person chasing a tractor on foot in a field.
A reserve deputy responded also and detained the individual. Deputies were advised by the property owner that the individual was not authorized to be on the property and was in danger chasing a tractor around the field.
Deputies identified the individual as Emery Jules Richard, 35, of 1148 Bayou Mercier, St. Martinville.
Richard was also in possession of Fentanyl. Richard was arrested and booked into the parish jail for criminal trespass and possession of CDS II.
