Domestic abuse battery

On January 15, 2023, Deputies responded to the Elton Police Department about a female wanting to report that she had been strangled by someone and was scared to go back home.

Deputies spoke with the victim who said, her boyfriend, Benjamin Clarence Eskra had verbally abused her for years, but today she got her Louisiana Purchase Card and attempted to leave the residence to buy items for her daughter's birthday party. 

The victim said, Benjamin began yelling at her demanding she give him the card, and grabbed her by the neck and choked her.

Deputies observed red marks on the lower part of her neck that was consistent with being choked or strangled. Benjamin Clarence Eskra, 58, was arrested and booked into the parish jail for Domestic abuse battery with strangulation and simple robbery.
