Burn Ban

Officials from the Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury issued a burn ban for the parish effective October 31. The ban also includes a firework ban.
Because of the extremely dry weather conditions, the burning of trash or vegetation and any other open burning has been banned for a period of thirty days beginning October 31.
According to the proclamation issued, there will be a "thirty day ban on the use, discharge, or ignition of any and all projectile fireworks, including but not limited to bottle/stick rockets, missiles, roman candles, or any and all cylinder-launched devices…"
Sheriff Woods recommends that no fire ever be left unattended, even when in contained structures.
