When Jefferson Davis Parish held it's second election in 1916, Issac Fontenot a Grand Lake native, was elected as the second Sheriff of Jefferson Davis Parish.  Prior to being elected, Sheriff Fontenot known socially as "Ike", was serving as a Deputy under Sheriff Fuselier between 1913 and 1916.  Following his election in 1916 Sheriff Fontenot served as the Sheriff of Jefferson Davis Parish for four terms totaling 16 years.  In 1932, Sheriff Fontenot's last year in office, he sent his Chief Deputy Leo Nohe, to the Calcasieu Bank in Jennings after receiving a tip that Bonnie and Clyde planned to rob it that day.  Chief Deputy Nohe, along with several Deputies, stayed at Calcasieu Bank for several hours awaiting their arrival.  Bonnie and Clyde never arrived and the Deputies left the bank.
