On Monday, September 23, 2013, Jefferson Davis Parish deputies observed a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis traveling east bound on the north frontage road near mile marker 65.  The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation.  Upon coming into contact Deputies observed the driver, Justin L. Derise, 28, of 1811 N. Church Street, Jennings to be nervous.  After speaking with Derise, deputies requested to search Derise's vehicle.  Derise gave consent to deputies and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  Deputies located a partially burnt hand rolled cigarette containing an unknown substance.  While searching the vehicle Deputies located a package of synthetic marijuana and rolling papers.

 

Derise was arrested and booked and released (due to lack of jail space) on the following charges: LARS 32:79  Improper Lane, LARS 32:415  Driving Under Suspension, LARS 40:964  Possession of Schedule I Analogue, LARS 40:1023.C  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
