Elton man arrested for Terrorizing

Friday night August 16, deputies and Elton Police responded to a bomb threat at 812 Main street, Elton.

Deputies identified the suspect as Scott Miller, in a green GMC Yukon.  Deputies were told that the vehicle was wired with explosives and that the rice dryer located in Elton had a bomb in it. 

After a short standoff, Miller gave up and surrendered to deputies.

The Louisiana State Police bomb technicians responded and after a search deemed the area safe.  The vehicle was found to obtain wiring that looked similar to items used with explosives. 

The suspect was alleged to be trained in explosives while in the military.

Scott  Gregory Miller, 49, of 1218 Yoakum street, Elton was charged with 2 counts of Terrorizing.
