On Tuesday, June 11, at 8:00 pm , deputies responded to a disturbance call at 20500 North Frontage road, Iowa.

When deputies arrived they observed a male subject shoving a female to the ground.  Deputies intervened and stopped the altercation. 

The male subject identified as Gary Lyn Thibodeaux, 59, was reported to have struck the female victim and her dog several time with a cane before deputies arrival, according to witnesses. 

Thibodeaux was arrested and charged with simple battery, aggravated battery, simple criminal damage to property, simple cruelty to animals, aggravated assault and resisting an officer.  Thibodeaux is held in the parish jail with no bond.
