On May 27, 2019 Deputies were called to Peto’s truck stop on Hwy 395 in reference to suspicious activity behind the business.

When deputies arrived they observed a white suburban parked behind the building. The investigation revealed the occupants had marijuana, diazepam, alprazolam and Adderall along with suspected heroin in their possession. 

Violet Marie Dugas, 40, and Shane Dale Dugas, 47 both from 501 Nichols street, Welsh were arrested and booked into the parish jail. 

Shane Dugas is charged with Violation of a protective order and possession of CDS IV. He is held on a $10,000 bond.

Violet Dugas is charged with violation of a protective order, possession of CDS schedule IV, possession of CDS Schedule II, possession of marijuana, possession of heroin, and taking contraband into a penal facility.  She is held on a $15,000. 00 bond.
