Burglary call leads to arrest

Jeff Davis Sheriff deputies made an arrest yesterday after receiving two complaints.  The first complaint was from the Bayou Mart on LA 101, Lacassine where a white male subject was observed stealing liquor from the store.

The attendant confronted the male and told him to stay, deputies were coming. The white male fled and was last seen Northbound on La 101. 

At approximately 7:25 pm April 15, the Sheriff’s office received an alarm call at Lil Coochon’s restaurant on the frontage road in Lacassine.  Deputies met with the owner and discovered a white male behind the business with merchandise from the business in his possession. Deputies also observed a broken window where the male made entry. 

Thomas Wayne Stewart, 44, of 513 Sam Rankin, Corpus Christi, TX was arrested for Simple burglary, theft and simple criminal damage to property.  Stewart was booked into the parish jail with no bond.  Stewart will have additional charges of shoplifting from the Bayou Mart pending.
