Two arrested for Theft of signs

Jefferson Davis Parish sheriff’s patrol made two arrest Saturday afternoon around 1:30 pm near Connie road and Hwy 90 in Welsh.  Deputies observed a white male removing a sign post from the ditch on the side of roadway and stopped to investigate. 

Deputies discovered several signs in the back of a truck parked nearby occupied by another male subject.  The white male began telling deputies that the City of Iowa had advised they could pick up sign for scrap if they were down. 

Deputies informed the two they were not allowed to remove city or parish signs to be sold as scrap. Christopher Earl Adler, 25, of 403 South Storer street, Iowa was arrested on charges of Theft and Illegal possession of stolen things. Marion Monroe Frances Edwards IV, 32, of 403 South Storer, Iowa was booked on Theft, illegal possession of stolen things and attempted theft. Both were booked into the parish jail with no bond.
