On Monday, June 29, 2015, a traffic stop was initiated by a Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office Patrol Deputy. The deputy was attempting to stop the driver of a pick-up truck for driving 77 mph in a 55 mph zone on Hwy 26.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Jason Chapman, refused to stop until arriving at his residence. Chapman fled on foot and was located inside his residence. Deputies also located Kristan Richard, the wife of Jason Chapman, inside the residence located in the 4000 Block of Bryan Road in Jennings.

Deputies located over 500 pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Chapman and Richard were arrested
and booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail. No bond at this time.
