On December 16, 2014, Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Office received a complaint from area High school employees concerned about marks and bruises on a student.  Detectives discovered the victim had a large mark on the head, bruises and marks on chest and abdomen along with a burn mark on the back. After obtaining witness statements, detectives learned that the abuse to the child had been going on for approximately 2 months.  A 17 year old male of Iowa, Louisiana was arrested for cruelty to juveniles LSA R.S. 14:93 and booked into the parish jail where he is being held on $20,000 bond. Office of Child and Family services were notified of the incident by investigators.
