Reserves

You have probably seen them around before at local high-school football games and other community events, working patrol, stakeouts, transports and security. The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office Reserve Division works side-by-side with other departments in the Sheriff’s Office.

Minimal requirements to become a deputy with the reserve division are that a candidate for the reserves division must be 21 years of age and willing to donate at least 32 hours of volunteer time each quarter.

Anyone interested in becoming a Reserve Deputy and joining this elite team, may complete an application from the “Employment” section on this website. For Position Applying For, put "Reserve Division." Once you have submitted the application and all necessary paperwork, a background check will be completed and you will be called for an interview when a position opens.

Reserve Officers fall under the umbrella of Special Operations Commander Bill Kettler.
